This year's Superbowl, featuring the San Francisco and 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs, ended up being the most popular Superbowl in history. An estimated 123 million viewers from across the globe watched the Chiefs come-from-behind victory over the 49ers, which ended in overtime and a final score of 25-22.
Given the millions of eyeballs glued to the football action, it's not surprising that some of the biggest consumer brands were also willing to ante up record sums to advertise their goods and services. Ads this year cost an estimated $7 million for a 30-second commercial slot.

The music was a very pleasant song entitled "Round and Round" by Perry Como. We thought it was one of the more tasteful ads of the evening, and saw it rated a "B" by CBS news, which we also found appropriate and respectable -- there were a few ads that were more exciting, but more than quite a few that deserved much lower grades.
